What do you want to do?
If you sit down on the floor and ask yourself what you want. You’ll likely come up with a bunch of things that aren’t true desires. They’re just cravings.
And after you’ve run through a mental list of chocolate, drugs, coffee, todo lists, and whatever else you automatically reach for it’s likely that you’ll be left with nothing but deafening silence.
Because we don’t ask ourselves what we want often enough to know how to hear the answer.
And when we do hear that silence we usually refuse to go after what we want out of fear, teaching ourselves that wanting things is pointless, until we lose the capability to want anything meaningful at all.
Desire is a muscle that can atrophy or become stronger.
And when you listen to it more often it gives you the power to get up off your chair and do something meaningful.
