If you’re intermediate at a skill, and you add something to your skill set that will make you better. Your performance will drop while you’re integrating the new skill.
Learning the next skill makes you worse.
Because it throws you off balance. You’re comfortable with the skill set you already have. And learning something new isn’t comfortable. This is a fundamental absolute of skill development. And this process will always take time. And you won’t be able to benefit from the new knowledge and get better until you’ve practiced it and made it a part of you.
If you’re unwilling to accept a temporary drop in your skill level you will never pass your current level.
