It’s dangerous for a society to conclude that power corrupts.
Because power isn’t good or bad, it just exists.
And if the masses believe power is evil, they will voluntarily give it up. And a small minority will happily take it for themselves who will be truly corrupt.
Not because of the power, but because they had no morals to begin with. And they will happily take what others feel uncomfortable holding to use it for their gain.
Accept power for what it is. The ability to transform thought into action. a necessary part of the human experience and an absolute requirement of mental health. And the people who do that can feel empowered to seek it through competence. And they’ll be less likely to hand it over to a small number of evil people.
