Finding your people is difficult.
And we’re constantly sent signals by the people around us to be more normal. To not be so loud, and to not act so weird.
But the most lonely place is in the middle of the bell curve. Because we don’t want to be around lots of people. We want to be around the right people.
And there are so many of us in the middle of the curve that it’s too loud to have a conversation with one of them to find out if they’re right for you.
Well meaning people make themselves more normal everyday in hopes that they will be liked. But being normal doesn’t make you likable. It makes you invisible.
To find the people we really want in our lives we have to have the bravery to step out of the bell curve and try something different.
Step out of the crowd and you will find your friends.
