One of the most powerful ways to reduce your anxiety is to realize that you aren’t safe and that’s okay.

People are extremely capable of dealing with dangerous and terrible conditions.

But they struggle when they’re unsure whether they’re in danger or not and unsure if there’s something they’re missing that they need to do to fix it.

There’s a big difference between being unsafe and feeling unsafe. And it’s the feelings of unsafety that we struggle with.

We’re not sure if it’s time to spring into action to save ourselves or not.
And we’re biased to assume that it’s not our moment 90% of the time. Even when we’re terribly anxious we assume that things might get worse and that then we’ll need to do something to make our lives better.

For a lot of people, when disaster strikes it’s a relief. And a moment of clarity. They know what sucks. They know what the problem is. And they know they need to do something about it.

Well guess what. Life is a disaster and it’s your moment. It always was. So now you can stop worrying and go do something to make it better.
