There are broad ideas that apply to everyone.
But when someone shares their experience and says, “if everyone just did this, everything would be great,” run the other way.
Because that person hasn’t had the life experience to realize that whatever advice they’re giving worked for them because they applied the right advice in the right place in the right time and got a little bit lucky along the way.
Life is nuanced.
And when things work out for you, it’s easy to think you have the solution for everyone.
Don’t let someone’s confidence in their experience outweigh your judgment on what’s best for you in your current situation.
