Decision fatigue is real.

There’s a reason why Steve Jobs wore the same turtleneck all the time and Jack Dorsey can always be seen in sandals and a hoodie.

Simplicity is useful.

When the number of options is reduced we can see the ones left more clearly. And if the options left for that decision are narrowed down to one then what was once a point where a decision had to be made can become a habit.

Sometimes decisions are delightful things to make. I wouldn’t want to walk into a candy store and only have one option.

But narrowing down decisions in areas of your life that you aren’t interested in is a powerful way to make progress in the areas that you care about.
