Set your phone down and go for a walk.
Don’t bring headphones and leave the phone at home or leave it on silent.
As you walk, find a speed that’s comfortable for you and then breath out on one foot and breath in on the other. Breath a bit more heavily than you normally would, and do that until you’ve loosened up a little bit.
Then, breathe in for two steps and breathe out for two. Do that for a while and try to notice the changes it makes to your body.
Then, breathe in for three steps and out for three. Then four. Then five, six, seven, and eight.
Each one affects the body differently.
It’s not complicated. But syncing your breath to different numbers of steps can be an extremely effective way to relax.
