If you want to become truly powerful, remember this.

There are ways we want to be and things we want to do.

We want to be relaxed, happy, or excited, and then on the do side we want to succeed or build something that matters to us.

Usually we sacrifice the way we want to be so we can do what we want to do.

And it’s a terrible mistake.

We give up our relaxed life in the pursuit of success or give up our happiness because we don’t think it’s realistic to endure the struggles that give us purpose without first shutting off our emotions.

But the way you want to be enables you to do what you want to do.

Being relaxed gives you the endurance to handle challenges and being happy gives you power over the hard times.

You do need to learn to sacrifice. But don’t learn to sacrifice the wrong things.

Learn to be the way you want to be so that you can become the person who can do the things you want to do.
